Some of these metals include Iron， Cerium and Magnesium. When the ferrocerium rod is rapidly scraped， the friction created ignites the shavings， producing molten globulars of burning metal. These long-burning molten globulars of metal make a ferrocerium fire starter so effective at catching other materials afire. With the Exotac nanoSTRIKER XL Ferrocerium Rod Refill Kit， you can ensure the longevity of your Exotac nanoSTRIKER XL Firestarter. Get up to 3，000 strikes. The replacement ferrocerium rod is compatible with all nanoSTRIKER products and can be used alone. Leave the coating on the rod until ready to use. To replace an old rod， simply unscrew the rod and screw in the new rod. Ensure the rod is a snug fit into the rod holder. If the rod becomes loose， add a drop of blue or purple loctite (not included) to help retain the rod. This kit includes 1/4 threaded ferrocerium rod and 2 replacement O-rings.
